While an Assistant Coach for the Men's Program, Giovanni also managed the teams social media, where he designed graphics and managed game day content.
Below are examples of the graphics he developed and how they looked on Instagram.
The goal was to create compelling visuals that aligned with the schools branding and also excited the players & fans.
Starting XI
The Dolphin shooting up out of the water is a nice omen for the squad's readiness to jump into action.
Final Score Graphics
For feed & IG story
A gradient effect is applied on the background to allow legibility for an open "scoreboard." The player subjects are masked out and layered back above the gradient so that they pop, remaining the focal point.
As opposed to choosing one player for the image, an effort is made to find a photo that encompassed the team as a whole.
Goal-scoring graphic
Goal graphics are shared via stories during the game to celebrate & provide live updates for fans following along.
The dolphin logo was made to look like glass through beveling & embossing a handful of layers & applying some light source reflection.
The home turf of UMSV is subtly applied in the background.
Player of the Week
To emphasize the achievement of the player, as well as tie in with the skyline conference, the player is emerging from & rising above the skyline of New York.
Subtle comic-book themes were tied in as well including half-tone, print-streak texture, & fonts, to achieve a larger-than-life effect.

Bag tags & locker tags
Created for the lockers & bags of the players. Gold gradient used to reflect the prestigious level and standards of the program. The font used, Roc Grotesk, is a font used by Mount Saint Vincent University in their branding. It also comes in a multitude of weighted options, allowing every name to take the same height and width regardless of length.
