Through networking via Twitter, Giovanni was able to connect with "Knicks Film School," a podcast centered around all things New York Knicks. He was able to earn a part-time position as graphic designer, making daily edits for KFS social platforms & their 20,000+ followers.
The idea was to create a clean look without being too flat or boring, and incorporating saturated colors With a soft grain and increased contrast, all meant to help the graphics pop and retain attention. KFS requested a brick backdrop because they felt it tied the 'school' into their theme. Playing on that idea, Garufi also incorporated a chalkboard backdrop into their news graphics, with the banner running across inspired by a NYSE-esque 'ticker.'
